Dell has shifted there focus to only supporting the X51 series. There will be no revisions to the Windows Mobile 5.0 ROM images for the X50 series. X50 owners are out of luck.

it's probably bogus. Please don't propagate rumors.

I spoke with a rep on the phone. They are phasing the X50 series out completely. With that said, Dell still supports the 2003SE ROM's but not the WM5 ROM's. There will be no X50v WM5 besides the crippled A0 ROM that originally went out. This makes sense since they offer a 'rollback' ROM image to SE2003 on the download page.
