Aximsitewifiicon SSID special characters

Is there any known issues with using special characters (e.g. $,%...) in the SSID for a router and the x50v running WM2003SE (version A05)?

We are having trouble connecting to a wireless network which has an SSID that starts with a special character and it has been suggested that the special character may be the problem.

Have you tried using the Odyssey client? Looks like that may be what you need according to this post - http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=66157

We have not tried Odyssey Client. I will have to see it that works.

In reference to the link, we are able to enter the character (it is a $) but the network does not consistantly connect to this SSID.

Also thanks for the link. I can never seem to find things when I need to!

Is SSID broadcast turned off on the access point? I have found that it is sometimes difficult to connect and/or stay connected with the Axim when SSID broadcast is off.

Yes it is, but I don't think that was the problem since I don't broadcast it from my home network either and everything works well there.

For some reason everything is working well now?! It may be due to issues with MAC address filtering; the sys admin may not have put my MAC address on all the access points, but I don't know for sure.
