Hi guys. I wonder if there is someone who managed to overclock his axim more than 728 (CPU) 208 (BUS) 104 (RAM) (104) LCD which I found as the only one stable overclocked speed. (I don´t want to talk about that 1GHz overclocking since it is no use because it´s slower than 520MHz because of low-clocked ram and bus...). So, is there anyone?
And my second question - is there anyone who managed to/knows how to overclock the 2700G graphic chip?
By the way the 728 speed is very useful to me, because I was using morphgear to play GB games. It was good (208 MHZ CPU was enough to run without stucking). But then I tried to open some GBA roms and awwww it was simply horrible. Small speed and the sound sounded like tearing some paper. So i switched (in windows) my Axim to maximum performance - 624 MHz. It was better, but still the sound was dead. And then I came across a Pocket Hack Master and played with it (Hehe it was fun to do some 7 Hard resets per hour....) and found very good settings. After many tries, i added one manual speed - L 16, M 7, A 1, LCD_26 0(!), check turbo and fast bus. And when I tried to play GBA games with this settings it worked just fine - game was running on 100percent speed. AND WHAT IS IMPORTANT - THE SOUND WAS WORKING AND IT SOUNDED CLEARLY AS IF RUNNING A REAL GBA!! Wooo-hooo!! For completeness' sake there is my morphgear GBA´s settings - Frame skip 3, auto sync, sound 44,1.
Can someone please tell me why my newly acquired X50v will NOT overclock. Check this out... if I bring up Pocket Hack Master and simply run the test at 624 Mhz, the damned thing locks up.
yea of course overclocking anything in general the company will void the warranty on it. The question why would u really wanna do that, its not like ur gonna run a complex application such as autoCAD and etc. Just be a proud owner of it and enjoy. Its a serious risk when it comes to a pocket pc. With a CPU or a GPU at least they have a fan to blow out the heat. Also if u r doing it for games just try to free up memory, thats the best way to get better FPS's :)
If everyoen did that then we wouldn't have neat little tools like pocket hack master, riva tuner for us Video Card guys, super expensive ram with temp moniters on it and hard drives with cool names like ' Raptor' and 'Cheetah'!
Anywho
I tried to overclock my x50 a while back. I was able to get it up to 7xx speeds but it was getting notecably warm. I was able to play stunt car extreme full speed however. (too bad I don't have the graphics chip :/)
overclocking isnt really necessary, just for testing, to unleash its ability, or for show off :D
The 1Ghz o/c isnt real o/c t all,
its a trick like 100Mhz x 10fsb = 10Mhz x 100fsb
O/C shouldnt use for long time which can affect stabilty & cpu lifespan, perhaps even kill it.
kids; dont try this at home
Well.. I'm a kid (13 yrs) and I try and over clock my computer. So... lets see.. I have a 2 GHZ opteron, and its now at what, over 3GHZ? And my graphics card...... I overclocked that too...... The fan on the graphics card never worked in the start, and Dell put a bad case fan/CPU fan to start........ so my temperature is at about 120 degrees with 3 added fans....... but thats another story.

oc is like usin a credit card it can be very bad if used incorrectly.this is jus sumthin that I will not bother with,I'm usually willin to try most of the hacks on this site, but this has jus gone too far.
Er...this is kinda pathetic. I didn't realize (being a relatively new X50v owner) that the ownership demographic included so many old women.
I'm just going to take a guess and say that none of you nervous nillies owns a sports car.
But I digress. Suffice to say, there is an entire *industry* built around overclocking computer hardware, and has been since I first ran my Pentium Pro at 200MHz.
Now, I'm aware that a PDA has a thermal envelope within which it operates, just like everything else. I'm also aware that engineers usually leave in quite a bit of margin when designing these things (after all, it needs to operate in a fairly wide range of external temps).
So what's wrong with pushing to the edge of that envelope? You may end up with a paperweight, but I think this guy already knows that and is *not* looking to have his hand slapped by a bunch of martinets!
You want to end up with a paperweight? I never said anything is wrong with overclocking (Besides I'm a 13 year old boy, not an old women. In fact, I overclock my AMD Opteron from 2GHZ to 3GHZ. But, I have a good cooling system. Heating it too much can seriously degrade the lifetime of the internal components and the battery.
