Aximsitex50icon SD Card Causing 1) Dim Screen and 2) Charging Battery Status

I have a problem whereby, when I insert an SD card into the SD slot ...

1) The screen light dims
2) The charging power setting for the main battery changes to a status of 'charging' and the power remaining percentage is stuck as a fixed power percentage e.g. 97% remaining when it actually has less ... this eventually leads to a power outage and loss of data (unless it is recharged).

I have tried 2 different SD cards - both with the same result.
I have also performed a hard reset - the problem still exists!

Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this or has anyone experienced these symptoms?

My advice would be to not insert a card while the Ax is on and also not to press a card in while the Ax is in the cradle(assumption on my part). You might be having a bad connection on the power connection with the cradle unrelated to the SD card. Try removing the unit from the power connection, turn the unit off, plug in the card(Ax will turn on), then replacing it in the cradle. Good luck!
