mob 5.0 upgrade for Axim 50v
I sent the following email today:
Mr. McKinney, first I want to say that I have been a Dell supporter for a long time. I am 82 years old and have taught computer to seniors for 5 years. Also I might add that during that time over 25 seniors have bought Dell computers based my recommendation. Now for the purpose for my message. Last fall I placed order # 607665884 for the mob 5.0 upgrade cd for my Axim 50v on my account # 017889713. It was shipped to me on 10/30/05 on bill of lading # 80167236181. After receiving the cd I upgraded & the results were terrible. My x50v kept freezing & I had to hard reset many times. I always read the axim forums and was fortunate to see that Dell had furnished a patch to revert back to ver3.0. I installed the patch & my Axim 50v has been working fine. I have visited the forums since almost on a daily basis & kept reading that Dell was promising a patch to make ver 5.0 work for the x50v so I have been just sitting back & waiting and also reading where Dell has been breaking their promises every week since which prompted me to contact you. I should not have to write this message to you as you know by your records that I was sold a faulty product and Dell has never contacted me. Something has happened as I am sure you have not grown to such a major electronics company with this kind of treatment to a loyal customer. Jim Johnston,
I rec'd the following reply:
Thank you for choosing Dell. I am currently out of the office. For immediate assistance with any new customer service issue, please call 1(800) 624-9897 or Technical Support 1(800) 624-9896.
I called the 800 624-9897 & it was answered by a person in India who had no idea what I was talking about. Jim Johnston
