No new screen protector, but I did clean around the edges using a quick note piece of paper, to get out dust, etc. I saw it somewhere on the forum, I have done it before with no ill effects.
The other thing I did was restore an SPB backup because I lost my bluetooth, bluetooth is ok now, but upper right top of screen where the x is does not respond. the rest of the screen is normal
Soti Pocket Controller works fine.
I'm using Vbar but disabling Vbar does not change anything.

You probably thought of this - but have you calibrated the screen? Sometimes they can get way out-of-whack. If not, just go to the screen utility and align it. Doesn't make sense that a whole section would just "drop out" ... it's probably just in need of calibration.

Yeah, I did recalibrate at least 4 times, the upper right corner is still dead, just to the left where the VBar triangle is its OK, its just that area where the ok and x are in the very upper right corner.
I guess I'll have to replace it, right now I'm using my X51v, its a shame though as the X50v has been a real trooper through thick and thin. An old friend thats ill.

Update,
Now the circle with the x in the upper right corner only responds to the stylus in the upper left edge, but at least its responding, where it wasn't at all before. The center of the circle is still unresponsive, there is a very small area where you have to hit the exact spot to close an app.

Upper Right corner still doesn't respond, Panja from Dell is checking my warranty which is good til 2007, but he thinks its an mp3 player, took awhile to explain that its a PDA.
Good thing I bought a used X50v which arrived just after this problem started.
