PC not recognising Axim

For some strange reason, a few weeks ago, my computer just stopped recognising my AximX50v. Any ideas?

I had that happen when trying to sync large files, or if a particular file had a transfer problem. What I would do is copy all files out of the sync folders on both the axim and the PC. Then reboot the axim(soft) and the PC and attempt to sync. It may work now, if not recheck the sync folders on the PC and Axim. Somehow deleted files seem to reappear! Delete them and try again.

Also syncing contacts with pictures sometimes causes problems if the pics are not transferred to the axim prior to syncing contacts -

Synching is a secondary problem. My computer doesn't even recognise the device. It knows there is a USB device there, just not it is.

Well, that is one of those things. When this happend to me it looked like it would not connect. Just the green spinning icon, spinning, spinning, spinning. I deleted the files and rebooted and as connected.

Oh, I have an x51v with activesync 4.1 but this might work for you. Go to the device manager on the PC and make sure there is no PDA Device. If there is delete it. With Activesync 4.1 the PDA will appear as a network card in the device manager. Make sure that is there and that the Windows Mobile Network Card (on the PC) is enabled.

Well deinstalling and reinstalling active synch didn't work. My computer knows there is a device there, but just can't tell me what type. Any other ideas?
