Question Critical memory error

this is the second time i have gotten a critical memory error message on my axim x50. it says to press the contacts button at the bottom to reset the device, if this dosn't work to hard reset the device. both times the contacts button has worked but why is this happening and what could i do to stop it from happening again?

i have plenty of free ram, internal storage is less then half full and everything else is on a removable storage card.

thanks for any help in this matter.

i guess every few days or so. sometimes some of my games and programs slow down, also sometimes programs stop responding (i think). or if i'm going to use my BT GPS i soft reset first. so i guess the answer is pretty often.
