Wenna Ya Gonna Learn....
I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN MY OWN ADVISE.
I UPDATED MY AXIMX50v TO W5M AND ACTIVESYNC 4.1. THE UNIT WORKED FINE FOR A FEW DAYS. THEN ONE DAY THE SCREEN FROZE AND I DID A SOFT RESET. THE SOFT RESET WOULD NOT REBOOT PAST 80% AND HUNG UP AT THAT POINT (80% OF LOADING). I THEN DID A HARD RESET AND GOT THE SAME RESULTS (80% OF LOADING) ON HARD RESET. I REMOVED THE BATTERY LET THE UNIT SIT FOR A FEW DAYS. THE AXIM X50v WILL NOT RESET BEYOND THE 80% POINT. IT SEEMS THAT I NEED SOME WAY TO REBOOT FROM A SOURCE OTHER THAN RAM.
ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS OR DO I NOW HAVE A $300 BOAT ANCHOR FOR MY MODEL SAIL BOAT. S--- O-- L---, MY DELL WARRANTY EXPIRED LAST MONTH. I PLANNED ON EXTENDING IT BUT, WELL ...... I FORGOT, WENNA GONNA LEARN....
THANKS FOR ANY HELP OR YOUR TEARS........
TAKE CARE, RJB15235

You need to use the SD image loader to either reinstall WM5 or go back to WM2003. If you go to the main x50 forum there is a thread that explains how to use it. It looks like there is a link to someone hosting the files on page 17 of that thread. After you reinstall the OS you choose your Axim will go VERY slowly (maybe even seem to lock) right after you reset the device this is normal as its formatting the rest of the Built in storage.

How long are you waiting for it to complete? It might take 20 minutes or so. Also, try a couple of hard resets but wait about 30 minutes in between to see if it clears. for some reason all hard resets arent equal and don't clear everything. And really, why are you using all caps?

I personally think him having caps on or off is no big deal.My tired old eyes can see it better. In the chat rooms it's considered yelling, thats ok too,I can't hear good either.
