Got a X50v with WM5 upgrade.
Thinking about getting HT820 headphones, as I very much like the idea of listening to music while walking round town and not missing phone calls - all without wires, so tried the Widcomm 1.5 CAB and 1.6 upgrade patch to get A2DP - the download from the HP site won't install "device not supported"
BUT....
now I have no sound either through the speaker or headphone jack. The volume level slider is set to zero. Attempting to move it just results in it jumping back down.
I've searched the forum and found one vague mention that the BT installation has altered the registry to be the default sound device but no details. This sounds likely as it happened when I soft-reset after the install.
I've tried uninstalling the CAB (the only one that looked likely in Remove Programs was something about Customization) and deleting the copied files and doing soft resets after everything, but no joy.
Is there a registry key I can edit to put it back as it was? I'd rather not do a hard reset to repair it (reinstalling programs is a pain), but if I do is there a better way for WM5 to get the A2DP functionality?
