Battery Drain

I had to hard reset my X50V the other day, and reloaded only my most used programs and left out those I only infrequently use.

But now it seems the battery drains much faster than normal. I do not get an hour out of my battery before switching, and then my second battery (same size) also lasts half as long as it used to.

While operating on battery my processor, speed is adjusted downward to Power-Saving, my screen light is lowered, I do not have infrared receive checked. What have I forgotten?

In other words, my programs and behavior has not changed, nor have I been more intensive with using the Axim then normal, the only change is fqast battery drain. Anyone have a suggestion on what I can do to change this? :rolling:

Have you done a search concerning this problem? I seem to recall that I read where someone had this problem and did a couple HR's before getting it to work ok. I would suggest try searching some to see if you can find a solution.
Could it be one of the programs you have installed that is causing the memory drain? Maybe a hard reset and install one at a time and wait and see if it causes a drain before installing the next program. I know this would be a slow process but it may solve your problem.

I am running 2003SE

I am fearing a bigger hardware problem, in the past few days my Axim is going into memory failure mode, and asking to either reboot or hard reset. Perhaps it is heading to death. At least I ahve replacement warranty till January.

I'd contact Dell about getting a replacement. That way if you have any additional trouble you still have time for another replacement before it runs out in January. You may want to see what it cost to purchase additional coverage. You can urchase a total of 3 yrs of coverage
