Worried Won't boot past Dell screen (80%)... Help

I figure this problem has occured to others, but I can't seem to find a solution within the different threads. If anyone has a suggestion, I would more than appreciate it. Here is a description:

Axim x50v which I upgraded to WM5.0. The unit was working fine all week. Last night, it was in the cradle, connected but not synching when it froze, so I tried a soft reset. The dell screen got to about 80% and never made it any further. I waited about and hour before trying a hard reset. The same result. I took out the battery for a couple of hours, reinstalled it and tried again with the same result. I then took out the CF and SD cards and battery altogether, put the unit in the cradle and tried to reset. I am still on the same screen. It did give an error message that a memory error has been detected.

Please help. Thanks

Hank

You need to use the SD image loader to reinstall WM5 or downgrade to WM2003.

SD Image loader

Thanks for the response Kenban. Unfortunately, I've tried the SD image loader, but when I hit wireless+Power+reset at the same time, it just goes to the same screen. It doesn't pick up the fact that the SD card is there at all. Any further suggestions?

Thanks

Reset to get SD card to read

OK, I just found out that you have to keep the power and wireless buttons held down after you hit the reset in order for the SD Image updater to start...

Will let you know how this turned out (shortly, I hope)

My Uncle's PPC did this. He said he was playing solitare and the thing turned off. He didn't have anything connected to it or anything.

He went to turn it back on and it does what yours is doing... goes to the Dell screen and locks up.

I've tried reflashing the x51v with the A12 rom using the SD Loader method.

The flashing goes good and asks to do a hardreset to finish the flash. Doing so prompts me to hardreset and the screen goes black for 4 seconds (hardresetting?) then comes up to the dell screen where it sits.

Whats going on? My Axim x51v doesn't have any troubles. But why wouldn't a flash fix it?

Anyone offer any insight?

Thank you very much, I didn't have to reload the image, only entering the image loader seems to be sufficient. I've lost all my settings though.

Naturally you would loose all your settings. That's what a hard reset does.
