I have two batteries, and both came from Dell. I replace a full battery when my Dell x50v shows main battery very low, such as 10%. After changing battery, the orange light still flashs, and the battery doesn’t update the status and still shows the previous capacity (10%).
I am sure the battery is good condition and can charge to 100% by cradle for using over 2 hours. Both batteries are the same trouble. Is this situation normal? Since the battery doesn’t update the status, many programs can’t run because of low battery. So, even I have a backup battery, it can’t work. Any suggestion to solve my problem?
Yes, i try soft reset even hard reset many time, but no help to my problem.
hey there. I've got EXACTLY the same problem with my x50V! 2 batteries - both from dell bought new. I've used them for about a year now. b4, when I switched the battery, the power level would update and correct itself to the new battery.
let's say one battery is drained. the odd bit is that the replaced battery (ie the one at 100%) works as normal, but the display show it at the same level as the drained one. also, the level returns to normal only after u re-insert the drained battery, and charge it to full.
anyone out there know how to fix this problem and/or reset the battery meter? Mine is a windows mobile 2003, but will upgrading to wm 5 solve this?
Check your ROM versions. From AO1 to AO12 on the X50's series some of the inbetween ROM updates had battery reporting issues fixed by following ROM updates.
I still have no idea how to deal with this problem.
There is one way to show correct battery status.
Take off old battery and wait 2 or 3 mins, then put the new battery back. The date will show default, but the battery status will be correct.
My battery meter does this when I get the low battery alarm. I put in the freshly charged extended battery, and it still says "low", but it still runs fine. Small problem, but it's like trying to talk to somebody while a fly is on your face. You just want it to go away!
