Dumb question regarding copying AVI onto Axim...

Hi all:
I got problems transferring my video onto axim's CF card. Providing that I dont have card reader, I tried copying the file via ActiveSync approach (or say, via my computer -> mobile device -> ... ), while the Axim responded with a frozen dialog box saying it's converting the format sorta thing. For audio file it will go through the process smoothly, but for AVI it just stops there doing nothing... Is this normal or what? How am I supposed to transfer my video file onto the Axim then? Really appreciate for the help... Thanks in advance.

Sometimes when I transfer my movie (.avi) files 400mb plus. The transfer files dialog box goes "wakky" I mean it will tick off the counter then stop, then reset... but if I go away the file will transfer... I've found if you go to settings---->system---->memory---->storage card. select the card you can verify the transfer is working by watching the "available" memory count down

Thx sid, though it seems to me that the problem is that the conversion gets stuck for some reasons so that the transfer process wont continue.. I will check on later, thx for your opinion :)

I dont trust copying large files through activesync, the best way is to use Softtick to make you PDA USB compliant, much better speed speed & stable file copying

lots of people have had it... thats why we bought card readers, (and the huge time saving)

possibly if you ignore it and wait long enough it will work, even though it appears AS has died... but the card reader is the way to go
