Hello,
I found today problem and after trying many ways i am starting to give up.
I've tryed to install PenReader, third party SIP. Install wans't succesfull.
After reset i can't using pen anymore. Notting happens. Just like hardware lock of buttons. I have spb pocket plus installed, and i can launch in safe mode.
But, i have screen lock, and when it comes to screen lock it wants me to input key code.
But i cant type now.

I would like to avoid hard reset.
Meybe any one have some ideas ?

Your side lock switch isnt on, is it? Check that first. Youll see a little red by the switch if it is on.

You may have to do a hard reset. The lesson is, to always keep a backup from when ur axim was running good.

Yep, it is a lesson now :)
Switch is of course off, and i've noticed that only keys are functional.
Pen and touch screen is not.

I learned this lesson the hard way, also. The first week i had my axim, i installed some software made for ppc2002. Most of the time they work, or else they give errors and you uninstall. I installed this one, and the axim froze. Soft reset didnt help, so i went with a hard reset, and has to reinstall everything.

I am remembering something about a key sequence during soft reset that disables SIPs? Maybe somewhere in this thread? No time to research right now.
