I had this problem.
How does one flash with an SD card? I can't even get the thing to recognize itself with hard resets. How do you get it to see a card?

Have you tried reinstalling WM5 or even rolling back to WM2003SE to see if it doesn't help? Empty the battery as suggested, but if you still have problems, you can consider trying a new OS install if accessible.

I don't see y pda manufactures jus don't provide their customers an SD Card with a rom image on it jus in case something like this was to happen and its no different than pc manufacturers providing a restore CD.

Is impossibe to reinstal wm5 or 2003. I've tried that the install software can't connect via USB to de AXIM because it is not startded.

I've tried to reflash Rom from SD card, but neither works. The progress bar at bootup secuence goes to the 8/10 part but it stops there, and after a half of seccond it does another step but not complete de bar.

I don't beleave this can't be repaired. (or is what I want to beleave)

Regards,

My X50v died yesterday too.

Worked fine in the morning, I was using bluetooth to check email, etc. Then, after lunch, it wouldn't come on. (I thought that maybe I had left it on, which has happened before, draining the battery).

When I got home, and swapped batteries, it didn't come on then either. Then, after a little bit, I decided to try a hard reset. Came up, restored a couple week old backup, then connected it to the computer and tried to restore a backup I had conveniently made the previous day. Stopped responding during the restore, and I rebooted the computer and did another hard reset.

I was lucky enough to get one more restore made, then it locked up again. After that, the best I've had is the Dell screen, today I don't get any display period.

Guess I didn't have good luck with the X50v model. This was the 2nd replacement, but since I'm 10 months out of warranty, no replacement is in the offing :(

Guess I'll go back to my X5 temporarily, until I can decide what direction I want to go. I liked the internet access via bluetooth. Do I go with a Treo 750 (Cingular)? Buy another PPC with Bluetooth? Go with a Palm (I've had them in the past)?

I don't know whether it is worth the bother to try to sell the 2 batteries and USB cradle on eBay, especially since the power cable is usable on my X5 in the short term.

Throwing Dirt on the x50v

I suppose I'll part mine out too on eBay. I was hoping that this forum would reveal some magic fix but the x50v seems to be spreading its curse. FWIW, my replacement solution was to go Smartphone (Cingular Samsung BlackJack). It gives me everything I was using the Dell for, including GPS, and more... albeit with a slightly smaller screen.
