Icon13 Dead silver keys

Last week I bought a second-hand Axim x50v. (here in Brazil is hard to buy new stuff, so much taxes!)

And I was so happy with it!!! I followed every instruction here (this site is FABULOUS), I got Windows Mobile 5 running, with decent bluetooth, CPU auto speed switcher working decently... And I didnt had to ask anyone for help, I was proud of myself!!

But today I noticed my silver keys and d-pad dead.
I set the left and right silver keys to open soft menus, and they were not working.
Then I noticed my central d-pad dead.

Only the leftmost key is working.

I thought it was a Windows problem, so I tried to hard reset. Now I am stuck on the hard reset confirmation screen.

What should I do?

Greetings from Brazil and sorry about my bad english,
Saulo

P.S.: I am a new converter. I had a Tungsten T3, a Tungsten T5, a Treo 650 and a LifeDrive. And I am SO SAD for what happened today... =o(((

Welcome to the site.

That sucks what happened to you, and since its secondhand, you probably dont have any warranty to send it back to dell.

One thing to check that could be the only problem, is to check to make sure your lock button isnt on. Youll see a little red, on the side of the axim where theres the two black buttons.

But if your locks off, then idk what happened.

My keys has stopped working once, and i fixed it with some paper. Here's how:
  1. Open the device (i don't mean turn on, i mean decompose it, mail me if you don't know how: billc.cn@gmail.com)
  2. Cut out a paper stripe of about 0.6cm wide, 10cm long, roll it up
  3. Press to make it flatter and put it between a white socket and the wires that connects the Keys' pcb and the big 'mother board' (found at the front bottom)
  4. Put your machine back and see if the keys work

Wish you good luck

Repair status

Sent to repairs in May... hope it would be ready in time for my Eurotrip... Jun-Aug.

Still waiting... 5 months repairing at Dell Authorized Retailer in São Paulo. Broken keyboard connectors.

I love Brazil.........
