Worried HELP!!! I cant change my axims brightness...

I am having a problem with the screen on my X50v screen. It used to work fine until today, when i turned it on, the screen was dimmed.
Now I found it wierd becuase the brightness is never that low unless, the Axim is about to power off.

But for some reason my axims brightness can no longer be changed. Even when i connect it to the cradle, the brightness stays the same. I have already done numerous soft resets, and removed the battery with no luck, any advise guys?

Did press and hold the power button by any chance? Doing so turns on/off the backlight.

no it doesnt change when i hold down the pwer button for more then 3 seconds.

this does not change even when i go into the settings and move any of the sliders to try and ajust the brightness.

NIether when the axim is connected to the charger, it displays that it is charging yet the screen remains dimmed.

This all started to happen after I sent the Unit out to PPC techs to fix my headphone jack about one week ago...could the problem be related to them opening the X50v???

If soo can there be anyway to solve this without having to send it back to them???

If you're prepared to reinstall, etc., you could try a hard reset. If it still doesn't work, contact PPCtechs to see what they say.

I assume that means you don't do backups? With all you have tried so far I think I would write/call PPC Techs and see if they will look at it. They may not have gotten the connector seated correctly for the screen. Hard resets really aren't a big deal though if you do backups.

Try plugging in some headphones and playing an MP3, then, while doing that, changing the settings with the slider controls under Settings.

If that does not work, it probably is hardware and needs repairs.
