Battery Drain Issue

The last couple of weeks, the battery (1100) on my x50 (WM2003) has been draining faster than normal. The battery is almost a year old, so I thought that could be the issue. Today the battery drained from 84% to 0 in less than 1 hour. Then it charged to 100% in less than 15 minutes

So I'm pretty sure I don't have a battery problem, but perhaps a hardware/software issue. Any ideas??

Today plugins include:

Pocket Breeze
iLauncher
Weather to Go
SPB Backup

Thanks!

I know when it is really warm/hot out in the summer, my axims battery drops like a lead balloon.

Also, check to see if u email/im software is trying to connect to the net.
And u can always switch ur proc/wifi/backlight to save power.

Batteries last only 300 to 500 cycles, so if you used it every day for the last year, it could be toast.

Well, I have used it everyday for the last year, and I though that had attributed to it not holding a charge for as long as it used to, but yesterday when it plunged to zero and then charged to 100% in less than 15 minutes, I was concerned it was an issue with the ax itself or some software.

Would that save battery life? Doesn't the axim draw it's power from the battery even when charging? Or is there a switch that allows the ax to draw ac power once the battery is fully charged?

Once its fully charged, i think it just runs from ac. The reason i can tell, is b/c the batt gets warm while charging, when its left at 100, it creates no heat, unless the unit is on.

I've done a little bit of reading, and I think you're right. The axim does switch between internal and external electrical sources. I'm going to be more diligent in keeping my battery charged and using external power (ac or battery extender) when possible/convenient.
