X50 suddenly lost SD card

I've had an X50 (Windows 2003) for well over a year now without any major issues.

Yesterday was running it with Tomtom and a Bluetooth GPS (as I have been doing since I have had the device) and the PDA locked. On a soft reboot I got some message about 'did I want to load up safe mode...' The only way to get rid of this was by hard resetting which I did but the PDA is now unable to recognise the 1GB SD card installed in it. I have checked the SD card on PC and it appears fine.

Tried reinstalling A05 rom but it won't let me as it says I have already got that installed (can it be forced?).

Does this look like a hardware fault on the PDA?

Have you tried other SD cards on your X50? If other SD cards show up on your Axim, you might want to reformat your SD card. Backup your data using your PC first though, since a format will remove all data. Another thing to try is another hard reset WITHOUT the problematic card installed.

my SD card slot on my x50v has been a little flakey for the past 4 months . when I cannot see my sd card I remove it and then give a short sharp breath ( blow ) down the sd slot and then when I put the card back in it see's it again.

This is what I found works for me.
