my x50v white screen woe's

my x50v won't turn on to anything but a white screen. it charges normally, I've tried to soft reset and all it does is blink for a second and then come back to a white screen. I've tried to hard reset and the screen will darken for about 20 seconds and then I hear a ding just like a hard reset would normally do but any button presses do nothing.
the only thing I can think of that might have damaged it was carying a wind up flashlight from my car with the axim by my side, maybee the magnet screwed up my axim, if thats the case does anyone know if I can reflash the rom somehow.

Please if anyone has encountered this and recovered your baby can you please post a reply, Iam dying here it's been two days of sorrow and all I've been doing is watching auctions on ebay waiting for a good deal. thanks in advance

I have the same issue. After the hard reset - you are at the Welcome Screen (ding). I have run the boot loader from the SD and reflashed successfully and it did not fix the problem. Still looking for the answer. Just came up with the white screen one day. X50V W2003 A5. Can explore to get any data off btw.

Bump

Hey hey,
Still searching for an answer.
Diag Mode runs fine and all tests pass Diagnostic Suite A01.
I have run the WM2003 boot loader from the SD and reflashed successfully.
Nothing but white screen and the ding of the Welcome screen.......
Anyone?

It seems you might have a bad video cable. If you don't want to open up your Axim, I suggest you replace it.

Try putting it on the cradle and see if Activesync/WMDC can see it.

Activesync can see it in the cradle. Was able to retrieve all the data via the usb cable. Didn't consider the video cable as the video on diag's as well as the boot loader looks fine.
Opened and di not see anything obvious. Reseated the video cable ribbon. Re-assembled and no difference.
Diag mode still all pass. Only white screen after reboot.
Thanks,
David

When you say the diags work, are you inferring that you actually see the diag screen on the CD and you only get the white screen after a reboot into WM?
If that's the case, your display is working and the OS is corrupted.

Thanks for the reply-
Right,
using Record + Power + Reset to get into daignostic mode. Runs all the tests fine and also see screen fine doing boot loader. Was guessing vid or vid cable not an issue. Also ruled out OS since it has been flashed via SD card. Doesn't reflashing replace the OS? That has been done as well using the WM2003SE loader and these files on the SD card:
DiMa_B_A05_X50v_WM2k3_ENG.nb0
DiMa_B_A05_X50v_WM2k3_ENG_nb0.crc
DiMa_K_A05_X50v_WM2k3_ENG.nb0
DiMa_K_A05_X50v_WM2k3_ENG_nb0.crc
Have flashed successfully twice. After reboot - back to the WSOD....
Again came as WM2003SE on a X50V W2003 A5 machine.
Still scratchin da head,
David

Good evening, my name is Alberto. I´m from Brazil. I´m interested in your PDA. How much would it cost to ship to zip code 04038-040 (São Paulo-Brazil)? Thank you. Alberto
