Hi, I have a Axim X50v, the problem i have is when removed from power source, and fully charged, it keeps going into standby, after about 3 secs, if i press power button it comes back on the 3 secs later, standby again. Even if i am using it, halfway through typing or reading emails, Boink off it goes, it is fine when on charger. I have 2 batterys, one new, it happens with them both. Any ideas.

Welcome to Aximsite
I know that this may be a stupid question, but you have checked the battery power settings, haven't you? Go to Settings, System (tab), Power, Advanced.
It's also worth checking the Brightness settings: follow the same route to the Power option and there is a link for Brightness Settings at the bottom of the page.
yeah i have tried all that, set it all for maximum, even tried taking battery out and leaving it overnight, but its the same.
I have the dell sync charger that charges batterys too, so i fully charged the battery out of the unit, put it in and its the same, is my Axim seen its day, I hope not!
Do you have a spare battery you could try?
Do you have any third party utilities like battery pack installed. If the axim is not holding your power or brightness settings it might mean a hard reset.
I have done the soft reset with the button on the back, how do you do a hard reset????
Before you do this, be aware that you are resetting your axim to it's original state, as you got it from the factory. Make sure you have backed up all your personal information, have installation and registrations for all apps you want to reinstall and time. A hard reset requires you to depress the power button and the reset button on the back of the ax at the same time, then follow the screen prompts. REMEMBER this will take your axim back to factory settings. BACKUP

Good post :approve:
Normally, all the clever information about backups, registration numbers and time are absent from this type of post. Excellent.
