Axim x50v will not boot past dell screen

My axim x50v was working fine until recently when it would not finish booting during a hard reset. It has WM5 on it and it will not boot past about 1/3 of the progress bar on the dell screen. I can still get into the SD loader and I tried loading a WM5 image, but it also didn't finish. It did the first few steps and got past loading the image, but it hung while "erasing storage...". It hangs at the same place ever time.

Is my axim completely busted?

Does not sound good. The x50v and WM5 does not mix well. Most have gone back to wm2003se.

I'm having the same problem with mine now; just started a couple of days ago. Any suggestions on how to fix it? I have no problem going back to the older version of WM, but I can't get past that damned Dell background screen.
