Of course, if you had a backup from your Pocket PC, this might be a fast and easy way to restore everything back to it. But assuming you don't have a backup file:
Delete your previous ActiveSync partnership and create a new one:
For ACTIVESYNC 3.8
Try deleting your ActiveSync partnership and setting up a new partnership:
Delete Partnership:
Do not attach IPAQ to PC. Open up ActiveSync on your PC, select File > Delete Partnership. If you are prompted to delete your My Documents folder, select NO.
Create Partnership:
Do not attach the IPAQ to the PC until you are prompted to do so. Select File > Get Connected. A wizard will prompt you through the remaining steps.
For ACTIVESYNC 4.X
Delete artnership:
Do not attach IPAQ to PC. Open up ActiveSync, select File > Delete Mobile Device. If you are asked if you wish to delete any documents, say NO.
Create partnership:
Do not attach the IPAQ to the PC until you are prompted to do so. Open ActiveSync, select File > Connection Settings > Connect. A wizard will prompt you through the remaining steps.
Sync your contact, task, appointment and notes data back to the Pocket PC. If you installed applications through ActiveSync, you can reinstall these applications:
Open up ActiveSync on your computer
Cradle your device
Select Tools > Add/Remove Programs
ActiveSync will check your Pocket PC and return an Add/Remove Programs window
Highlight the applications you wish to install to the Pocket.
After the applications are installed, you will need to input the activation code or license key to use them - hopefully you've got those codes on hand.
