Processor wont slow down...

My processor for my x50v seems to never go under it's max of 624 when I have it set to auto speed. This happened after I loaded some apps that don't run all the time. I have noticed that even when the system is idle it still is maxing the speed out. I heard some where that there is a program that can help but I can't seem to find it. Thanks for your help

clear memory then go to power settings and switch to normal and then back to auto and see if that doesn't slow down the processor. Also try soft reset.

You are probably aware of this but just in case, if you are looking at the speed when it is on the doc then it will always be at 624 and only slow down when it is removed. If that is not your case then most likely there is some program keeping it up there. Do you use magic button? some of the older versions caused this problem as well as other programs.

Are you running WM2003se or WM5? If the latter, it could be a known issue with Filesys.exe. There is a lot of info on these forums about the Filesys issue if you are indeed running WM5.
