:( i flashed a wm6 rom to my x50, i didnt knew that its only for x50v, now some one ld me to flash a wm2003 to my device, i have the fles but i dont know what to do, some one told me to read this thread http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=112012

but everytime i clicked on the page, i cant acces it, it says:

It was taken down because if people use illegal ROM images on their Axims, they may brick their Axims. So don't use that illegal ROM, or your Axim may end up dead.

Unfortunately, you may be stuck with a useless device. I'd suggest you seek help from the individuals that created this illegal ROM. Perhaps they can help you fix their mess.

No. it was because he used the wrong rom.

Same problem here I flashed my axim 50 with a 50v rom

(legal btw)

now it is dead still looking for a usa]eable 50 rom when I find one will let you know

WOW!

Whether the rom is legal or not is not the real mess here.

The real mess here is the unfortunate situation users find themselves in as a circumstance of not reading before flashing their pda with a rom it was not built for.

I am sure there were users who did this also when flashing legal roms to their pda that did not support it but chose to act before reading.

Now, I feel bad for these users but am not blaming the individuals who built this rom.

Got the axim 50 back on track, the roms for sd are hard to find but I googled for about a day and got it from thailand including tutorial...

If I'm not mistaken, the LEGAL rom images are still available directly from Dell:

Dell - Search - All Dell.com

No need to download from a Thai site.

As already mentioned, if you're going to play the OS Flash game, you should be d@^^n sure of what you're doing, always have the original on hand and be prepared to suffer the consequences.

You only need IMG2NB0F. Create a second file xxxxx_nb0.crc (xxxxx are the ROM nb0 filename) and put 12345678 into it.
Download Dell ROM and extract ROM with Winrar. (Download WM5 ROM since your bootloader is updated)

Example with X51v ROM
R129879.EXE->Extract with Winrar, into ROM, you will find it.
AximX51v_WM5_A04FR.IMG -> IMG2NB0F -> DiAd_K_AximX51v_WM5_A04FR.nb0

Create DiAd_K_AximX51v_WM5_A04FR_nb0.crc with 12345678 into it.
Put the 2 files on the root of an SD Card and update with SD Loader.
The CRC check will report an error, copy on a paper the CRC, then modify with good value the CRC in your crc file.
Reflash.
Finished.
