I'm having some issues with my x50. For the past couple of days, when I am surfing the net I will get a "serious memory problem" error come up and tell me to close IE and delete/move files. Sometimes the memory is gone and I can get it back with a memmaid clean and soft reset, but sometimes the memory is not gone....yet I still get the message.
Today I turned on my ax to find the "low battery warning...going into sleep mode" message. I took the battery out and put in a fresh, fully charged battery and turned it on only to get the same low battery warning. After sitting on the charger for an hour, it shows the battery at 100%.
Is my ax dying a slow death, or is it something else?
I can try the newer battery for awhile while using IE. My concern was that both batteries were giving me the low battery warning even though one was fully charged.
1. How old are the batteries?
2. How many charge cycles do you think they have been through?
3. Does the Ax work properly before the battery is drained
4. Can you get a replacement Battery and test?

Reason: This is irrelevant

1 battery is the original...it is 2 1/2 years old. It doens't hold a charge for very long. The other is about a year old.
2. I can't even begin to guess the cycles. I charge it everyday. I rarely let it drain down below 60%.
3. I've been getting the memory error even when the battery has sufficient charge.
4. If it came down to it I guess I could purchase another battery, I just hesitate to do that if it is dying.

Thanks]Old Batterries? Isee you have SPB backup, put it in the cradle and run a custom backup, everything it will take quite a while. Just in case. I reccomend a new battery for a test, you have had great life out of the other ones
I would do a complete backup and then a hard reset. Try only loading back what you need to test it for a couple of days. Don't do a restore until you see if it is program related or battery related. i still have my original 2 batteries from my x50v that are now in my x51v so they are almost 3 years old and going strong. I'm betting on a software problem. (only betting .50 cents though, could be a risky bet lol)

A little while ago, I started getting the battery latch error as well; I tried fixing the door latches, trying a different battery door, etc. but it message persisted. Finally, I purchased a new battery and my errors went away. BTW, my battery was about 2.5 years old as well.

:rolling: I hope I haven't jinxed myself by opening my big mouth about how well my two batteries have been holding up but usually when you get the same symptoms with two different batteries it isn't the battery but something else. It could still be the battery but that would be a strange coincidence. Please let us know how it goes.
Try the hard reset. Sounds like a squirrely registry setting or a program library (DLL) might have gotten deleted. Doesn't sound like a hardware issue (yet).
I was charging my x50v and pulled it out from my cradle but it's freeze. I tried to press all the button, none of them worked. I tried to reboot but it's still locked up. I removed the battery thinking it will go back to normal but I got this error window saying: "To clear all data in the memory, press [ ]. To cancel this operation, press[ ]. I tried all the buttom, still none of them work. I don't know how to fix it. :( Is anyone can help me with this? or email me norikolou@dslextreme.com Thanks.

If it's not the lock switch, try removing the main battery for a few hours if you are running WM2003SE. That will force a hard reset.
