Aximsitex50icon Help!! Built-in Storage diappeared after upgrading to WM5

I have used x50v with SE2003 for 2 years without any problem.
Today, I tried to upgrade to WM5 with upgrade CD which I received from Dell.
After upgrading, the axim couldn't recognize BIS.
I have read many posts regarding disappearing BIS, however, so far, I couldn't find any solution.
Is there anybody who experienced exactly same problem like me or knows the solution?
Please help me. Warranty expired 2weeks ago, and this thing always happens after warranty expired!
Thank you for advance.

What does "there is no BIS in wm5" mean?
Does that mean if I install Windows Mobile 5 on my Axim x50v, I cannot use Built-in Storage any more because WM5 doesn't support BIS??

WM5 is upgrade version of WM2003SE. How can it be happend??
Please give me any comment!
Thanks

WM5 handles the memory differently. there isn't BIS like in WM2003 but all of the memory is still there. It converts the memory to a format that stays 'persistant' so that if the battery dies it doesn't lose everything. So the memory is still there and you can see it if you look at the amount of available memory. it just isn't 'BIS' anymore. do some reading on people who have done this upgrade and you will find both good and bad experiences. I think the last thing I read was that it worked best if you load programs to a cf/sd card and kept most of the memory free on the pda itself.

Memory in WM5.0 devices is divided into Storage and Program memory. Storage memory is available to you to install applications and documents. Program memory is used by the system to run applications.

Another difference you may notice is that there is no slider that allows you to change the allocation of memory across Storage and Program memory.
