Dell X50 - What's the Current OS Version?

After not charging my X50 for quite a while the battery ran flat and I lost all my software and data.

So before reloading eveything I decided to reflash to what Dell told me was current:

Version 4.21.1088 (Build 14260.2.0.5)

Is this the latest version ?

Thanks.

This is wm2003se. Wm5, the next version is available but it is very slow and unstable.

You better off staying with the version you got right now. There are rom upgrades for wm2003se, but i still have a01 and that works fine.

For all you X50 owners running WM5, I almost have the A03 rom done. I finally got it to boot last night, but there were problems with the start menu that need to be fixed. Spunker88, f.y.i., that's why there are those out there (like me) working to make WM5 better than Dell has.

Thanks Zaniax,

Unfortunately I don't seem to have a "system information" icon, just an "about" icon which is where I pulled the above data from.

That sounds like good news for us x50 users. Wm5 is quickly becoming a necessity with software companies abandoning wm2003se.

Have you looked on the appropriate tab?

As Zaniax pointed out above

Start/settings/system/system information.

I think you are looking at the personal tab and not the system tab.
But I have a 51v and it might be different.

Sorry for the slow delay, but I have been away.

Ok, retried this and on the "System" tab there is no "System Information" icon.

On the System tab all I have is:
About
Brightness
Certificates
Clock and Alarms
Memory
Power
Regional Settings
Remove Programs
Screen

If somebody can tell me how to post a screenshot I will do so.

Thanks.

... and if you scroll down you will find to more icons: 'switcher bar' and 'system information' - I hope :)

I thought of that but alas, there are no scroll bars......

I tried selecting them using the joypad but there doesn;t appear to be anything off the screen....

Ok then -

On your ax make a wordfile with this text - exactly:

23#"\windows\SystemInfo.exe"

Save it as a textfile with the name 'SystemInfo.lnk'

Click on this new file ... and tell me that it was a success :)

Edit: I can only make it work with a plain texteditor like the one in TotalCommander, sorry
