X50 won't recognize replacement battery

I run down the battery on my X50. When the message pops up telling me that it is time to charge or change...I change to a fully charged battery. Upon re-booting, it still tells me that my battery is dying, and I need to change it....so I put in my third battery (also fully charged). Same deal. It won't recognize the new fully charged batteries when I put them in.

I thought this might be a WM2003 bug, so I fearfully upgraded to WM5. Axim is running fine, except...still won't recognize a new battery has been replaced.

I have tried to soft-reset a couple of times, and no go. Any ideas??

Welcome to Aximsite. Lots of good ppl and info here.

This topic has come up before and is a common issue. I don't remember what the fix was. What ROM version do you have? It S/B A05.

How did you upgrade to WM5, I thought the Axim X50V could not be upgraded. Would appreciate your response and if you recommend that I upgrade.

Yes - The X50v can be upgraded. However, some ppl have experienced problems during and after the upgrade. IMO - I'd stay with WM2003. You can do some searching to get more info.

For Miguk - Here's a link to a possible resolution. Basically, you wait 2 - 3 minutes before installing the new battery.
