Question X50V Freeze Up\Battery Drain

My X50V will freeze up and then I can usually do a soft reset and I am okay. Sometimes it freezes and then the battery drains down to 0 and I need to recharge and usually do a total reload of my software and data. I had this problem with an old battery and bought a new battery. With the new battery everything was fine for about 2 weeks but now having same problem. If I leave the X50V connected to electrical power I never freeze up and the unit works fine.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are you running WM5? If so, have you applied the fake server trick?

If you're still running WM2003SE, how much program memory do you have? Are you installing programs in the default location (i.e., main memory)? Have you cleared out temp files, cookies, etc.? Try a cleaner utility such as MemMaid or SKTools to help you do some maintenance (both have free trials).

Have you looked at the condition of the metal contacts in the battery compartment? If they look dirty, etc., try polishing them up with a soft cloth.
