Question Windows Device Center 6 on Vista; sync problems

Please help! I have the latest Windows Device Center 6 on Vista on Vista w/ all updates....did a hard reset of my Axim x50...have been troubleshooting the stupid connection forever! The Axim will, once in a blue moon, sync but not lately.

I've deleted the Network Device driver and that's reinstalled - not the problem. I've tried with the cable and with BT. I can connect, but can't sync. I see my Axim under explorer > computer and in 'Sync Setup'. The problem seems to be that it says in Sync Setup > 'sync media using Windows Media Player Devices'. I've tried to uninstall WMP (from the updates but it does not list that or anything remotely related to that). I've tried associating and syncing there and then disassociating it with WMP. If I can get it to permanently disassociate, perhaps it will sync correctly. Do I need to revert back to ActiveSync 4.5? Any ideas please? Thank you in advance!!!!!

I have only had a short period of time using WMDC myself but unless you have a pc with XP then going back to AS is not an option.

Have you tried uninstalling WMDC itself? Sometimes this can help then hook up your axim and reinstall WMDC. That would be my first action. Alternatively have you deleted the sync partnership and tried creating a new one?

Sometimes I find that my iPAQ disconnects itself for no apparent reason but removing it from the cradle and then putting it back works but your problem seems more terminal than mine.

If that doesn't work then hopefully someone else might be able to help.
