I've had a few problems with my x50v recently, and it has stopped syncing when in the cable. I've done a lot of things to narrow down the problem, and after buying a new sync cable and still not being able to sync the PDA, I think something is unfortunately wrong with the connector on the Axim itself.

My solution to this is to have it sync via Bluetooth, which I think is a reasonable alternative. However, I don't want to leave Bluetooth on all the time, and I would like it to ideally sync automatically when I put it in the cradle (which does still charge the Axim, just not sync it). Is there any setting I can change, even in the registry, that would automatically turn on the Bluetooth whenever the Axim is charging? Any tips or suggestions for getting started would be very much appreciated.

There is tool called PhoneAlarm for Windows Mobile phones which changes profiles automatically based on certain events like for example in your case, Charging. In each profile you can configure the settings like BT on/off and these get automatically set when the profile is changed on the event.

This program is basically for PocketPC with phone. I never tested it with Pocket PC without phone. Check the site pocketMax Software - Pocket PC Software & development.

You can use SKSchema to watch for device charging and automatically turn bluetooth on.
