Worried Stuck on Blue Dell Screen - Only if a SD Card is Installed

My X50v/WM2003-A05 suddenly has a problem where the device gets stuck on the Dell Screen after a soft-reset and locks up - but only if a SD card is installed.

I've done the following:
* Tested different SD cards.
* Hard Reset
* Upgrade to WM5 and downgrade back to WM2003 A05 (To re-flash ROM), then remove the battery overnight to reboot any drivers.

I'd like to stop popping out my SD card every soft reset, wastes my time and wears out these fragile little cards that like to split and crack.

Any ideas? Is it a hardware issue?

I've searched here and elsewhere on the web, and the only resolution I see occuring was to send the unit back to Dell for a replacement when under warranty.

Reformatted: Yes.

I've swapped cards with my other Axims, the problem stays with the device and does not follow the SD card.

OK, after a few more things that didn't work, I figured maybe I have too many files on the SD Card, and it can't handle the overall size of the FAT32 table.

So instead of reformatting from my desktop computer (which makes 4K clusters, not adjustable) I reformatted the SD Card using Pocket Mechanic on the PDA and set the cluster size to 32K. After moving all my programs and files back to the SD card, it boots just fine.

I hope this helps someone else...

That is a strange problem bu glad you were able to get it working. I have been using Pocket Mechanic since the beginning & its a great program.
