I have an X50v running Win 2003SE with ROM A05. I've only been running Seligman's Launcher and Magic Pocket 2.0 for a long time. For the last several years, it's been puttering along without a problem. Recently, the battery started to drain quickly, so I purchased a new 1100 mAh. The new one was acting the same way - charging but draining quickly. At that time, I noticed that the backup battery was not fully charging, so I purchased on from PDSSmart and replaced it.

The current situation: The backup battery is reading "Normal". Either battery will charge to 100% sitting alone in the back of the cradle. Neither battery will
charge while in the unit, either from a desktop charger or a wall charger. The light turns orange and the Power screen shows "Recharging state: Charging" and the green bar is filling towards the right, but it won't charge either one. A single game of "Solitaire" uses 3%!

Any ideas?

the simplest fix may be to do a hard reset (do not install any apps) and see if the issue returns.

If so, you have a hardware problem... if not, it was a software problem. Proceed with reinstalling your apps.

That basically happened when I replaced the backup battery. The unit was completely battery-less for about an hour.

I guess that means that it's hardware based, but what would not allow 2 different batteries to charge from 2 different chargers? Is there another part that can be swapped?

Do you have a cradle/charger that will allow you to charge the battery outside of the device?

Yes, I have a desktop charger. That's how I'm currently charging the batteries.
