Help! I think my internal battery is going bad

I have an x50v WM6 recently I have had an issue with the ax not turning on. the battery was showing completely discharged and the internal battery discharged as well. this occured a few times but now it did not turn on with the switch again. I plugged it in to charge turned it on and the battery shows 91 percent and the backup battery discharged. Is this the backup battery failing?

Looks like you need to replace the backup battery. There was a thread where someone was giving them away. You might want to search and see if the guy has any left. There's also a thread about taking the Axim apart. :approve:

Update to first post: main battery stuck at 91 percent. changed to fresh main battery and it went to 100 percent but backup remains at Low. So I feel that I need a new backup batt.

I have no fear of opening up my ax to replace it. Just needed some support of my theory.

You're backup battery will charge up when plugged into the cradle or other power source. You may want to see if it will charge.

If not, it needs to be replaced.

I've never run my main battery below 25% before charging it or swapping to another battery.

I might have some left from the original offer last month. But I left the key to the cabinet at home, so I can't look today. If I have any left, I'll post tomorrow and we can work it out so you get a battery.

There are good resources for taking your ax apart. There is a page ( .it domain) that has a really good photo and text mix. There's also a 30 minute video posted in a thread.

Either way, if you want to learn how to take it apart and put it back together, there is no shortage of information and commentary here.

Thanks bernard! that would be greatly appreciated. I'll keep a lookout for your post

I have seen the video and pictures of an ax coming apart. I have no doubt I can handle it.

It turns out that I have some x50 backup batteries left. So I'll send you a pm with details so that you can get one.

I hope it fixes your problem.
