My trusty X50V recently started actiing flaky wrt power:
Claiming battery door had been opened
Seemingly short battery life
Etc.

I figured the battery was dead.

So, a few days back it dies during use despite being fully charged. I figured, no surprise, it must really be time to do the new battery thing...

BUT when I plugged into AC it STILL seems dead.... the charging light comes on but it seems to be completely bricked no matter what I do, Soft reset, messing with the power button, battery, etc. The thing shows no signs of life.

When I take it off AC pressing the power button does not even light up the button much less the screen and when press the power button with AC it just stays the charging color.

I wasn't updating the OS or anything that would be a brick risk. Any ideas?

that's similar to what happened to me. after purchasing a different PDA, I opened the unit and found that there was a problem with the part that connects the energy to the motherboard. I don't know yet if it is fixable. I will advise in the future, hopefully
