My cradle broke, just like all the others it would seem.
Fortunately I looked at the design and realized that the cradle would never be reliable so I bought a 3rd party sync cable.

Unfortunately, the cable doesn't work.
It connects initially but within seconds it drops the connection.

Does anyone know what is happening and how to fix it?

I read something about problems because the Axim trys to charge the battery while syncing. This was from 2005. Anyone know if this is the real problem and if so if anyone make a sync cable with the additional AC charging pins?

I had many problems with 3rd party sync assemblies. Not to mention the problems with 3rd party chargers.

X5 sync cables worked much better than x50 sync cables. They just seemed more 'rugged'.

Have you tried a bluetooth link? (assuming you have a pc w/ bt)

I don't have a bluetooth card on the PC.
Because of an earier problem I almost upgraded the OS and noticed that it wanted the AC adapter plugged in to upgrade.

Do you know if bluetooth would let me do things like upgrade the OS or will that require fixing the cradle problem?

That would need a data cable to pc for os upgrade.

Just an update on this post.

I found out that this must be the cable/charging problem.
When I tried to sync after fully charging the battery it works fine.
