Worried Frequent eror messages

For the past 3 months I have been getting error messages requiring me to hit the contacts button. Well, at some point, I guess the mess age was something to the effect that hitting the contact button would wipe out the entire memory. I was just so used to hitting that button, I didn't realize what I had done until I had already hit it.

What I have now is my Axim with my 2005 stuff in it. I tried to restore my data, but it didn't work.

Questions:

Do I need a new PDA?

Can I possibly get back the stuff I had on it when it went TU 2 days ago?

Do I need a new battery? I'm using the 2 that came with it in 2005.

Any suggestions for a new PDA and or smartphone (Verizon only--I work in the hills of NC, and only Verizon has service at my worksite)

HELP!!!!:exc:

If your pda is functioning, you don't need a new one. Can you offer a little more detail as to why you couldn't restore your information? Were you trying to sync or to restore a recent backup?

Was the device recognised? Did you manage to connect with Activesync?

Ordinarily, one resets the Regional Settings (Start > Settings > System (tab) > Regional Settings (icon) and cradles the device. You should be asked if you want to connect as a guest or create a partnership.

Do you get that far?

Yes. It I declined to start a new partnership. Then I went to options and selected the restore tab. I chose the pocket_PC partnership (it wouldn't let me select any of the other ones). Then it went through the restore process. Then I got a message to reset the device. It didn't specify whether it was a hard or soft reset, so I did the hard reset. I then was back to nothing on the device. When I tried to repeat the process, it wouldn't let me restore anything.

The "restore your device" message during the procedure is a soft reset. Can you see other partnerships but they are greyed out? If so, try connecting your device and creating a new partnership. Don't sync anything, just connect and then try to restore a previous backup.

well, now it won't turn on at all.
Should I get another Dell or look at palm or ipac? I really need a pda. My blackberry 8830 is nice, but just doesn't cut it for the medical applications I use on a daily basis.
