Axim won't run on certain batteries

I searched the forums, but did not see any posts documenting similar behavior. I have two Mugen 2200mAh batteries that I purchased in December 2006. My WM5 X50v will not turn on or charge these batteries. I've charged them both in the cradle (spare battery port) and then installed them in my Axim, but it still will not turn on. Sometimes it will turn on indicating a error and wanting to hard reset.

I figured the Axim might be damaged, but I installed my original Dell 1100mAh and an older Mugen 2200 that seem to work ok.

I find it odd that both of the newer 2200 batteries would quit working completely at the exact same time. I was using these batteries with my Axim in the car using a Belkin charging cable. Could the Belkin charger have damaged the batteries?

BTW, I figured it was time to order a new battery and noticed the guys at Lion Battery are on vacation this week...

That is odd. I assume if you put them back on the Belkin charger they work O.K.?

I do have to believe the problem is with the batteries and not the AX. :)

I had opposite problem when I replaced my broken Hp4155. The old HP batteries would work in my X51, but the Dell cradle would not charge them (in the X51 or in the spare battery slot). I guess there is a lot of money in batteries.

They probably didn't have the same charge pins. Would they charge from the car outlet?
