Question X50 won't boot

Hi,

I've got an Axim X50, not sure how to determine if it is low or mid, that will not power on. I can go into SD update screen and load both B and K files but nothing seems to bring it to life after hard reset. I've tried every version of B and K files I could find but none of them worked... It switches between SD Update A01 and A02 depending on the B file that I use but when I load a corresponding K file nothing happens...

Any idea of what could be wrong? My understanding was that together B and K files provide full ROM for the unit and nothing else is needed.

Also, I cannot get the unit to go into diagnostics screen (record+power+reset)

Thanks,
ABC

Steven,

if you're talking about this thread - Easier way to recover your X50 after you bricked it+premade nb0 files
then yes, I have. I've tried every file you have posted there. Like I said, bootloader changes SD update screen from A01 to A02 and back but K(ernel) doesn't do anything. After successful flashing I hard reset the unit and nothing happens.

Is there any 'bulletproof' method of flashing an X50? And how do I know if it's a low or mid model? What is the difference?

Thanks,
ABC

Question Shall I pronounce mine dead?

My x50 wm5 was hanging on a hard reset, so I tried the SD card method using the "low" version (mine is a 416mhz)

Everything seemed to go as instructed, but when I did a hard reset at the end of the flash and erase, the darned thing just went dark and now it won't fire up at all.

Is it completely shot?

Same here. Are you still being able to go into SD update screen?
