Aximsitex50icon Axim runs on AC power only

I have had my axim x50v for 4 years now with no problems. Now all of a sudden I can no longer get the axim to recognize the battery. It will only turn on when I have it plugged in. I have tried different batteries, however the power settings simply say AC only. If I unplug it, it immediately turns off.

I have tried hard re-setting to no avail.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

chec the contacts on the battery and the contacts on the device. When that happened to me, there was loads of rust on my contacts. If everything is good, take a multimeter to the battery. It may not be charging. If all is good still, if you're out of warranty, tear that sucker apart!!!! If not, send it back in!

**edit, just read it was 4 years old. just tear it apart. there are screws and a few other things, but its quite doable. All you want to do when you tear it apart is make sure the contacts for the battery are good. IF they are...you may want a new mobo...

It also sounds like the battery is not charging when it's plugged into AC. You may want to check the charge level when the AX is plugged in. Does it show the battery charged or charging. (green or amber light) You could put one of your batteries in the back of the cradle to charge it up if it isn't charging in the AX. Once it's fully charged (green light on cradle) you should be able to use it to run the AX. If that doesn't work, you may have a problem internally.
