Hi, I bought a x50v touch screen off of ebay. But it is smaller than the original....

I think I was sent the wrong screen (maybe for the x50?). I emailed the seller about it... but would like your guys opinion. Those of you that bought replaced the digitizer on the x50v was it the same size as the original or a little different?

The original screen (well what is left of it haha) is on the left and the new one is on the right.

Second - I'm sorry to say you probably bought the wrong touch screen. The x50v has a 3.7" screen while the x50 has a 3.5" screen. Hopefully, you can get a swap. :exc:

There is probably a part number on the digitizer or shipping invoice or the packing slip. Google it and see the results you get from there.

I talked to the seller he offered to refund me the money if I send it back, so it looks like he did send me the wrong one.
THe connecter definitely looks different than the one in the ad.

I'm trying to get him to also cover the return shipping costs as well, but it is ebay so meh...

Just to let you guys know, the seller did end up giving me the refund. It would've cost $16 to ship it back (the original cost of the item), so he let me keep the wrong screen.

I would've preferred getting the right screen instead of the refund, but the seller's English was quite poor, so I wasn't going to push it for fear of making him more confused.

Anyways since i now have no touchscreen on my x50v, I ended up putting the wrong screen (from the x50?) on it. It actually works reasonably well sort of. The width of the screen is okay, but just along the bottom and is not quite long enough, so the bottom 3mm or so of the screen, touches with the stylus won't register. Also while touches work well on most of the screen, you have to use a lot more force around the edges. Not sure if this is due to the touch screen being the wrong size, or if it is just like that. Lastly the screen is not perfectly smooth like the original, it is rough like the surface of my LCD monitor


Anyways, thanks for your help everybody! Now I just need to get a proper x50v touchscreen. Want to find somewhere I can buy a smooth one... hmm...
