HELP After upgrade I can't sync up

After purchasing a downloadable version of WM 5.0 I can't get the Axim to sync with either of my computers. I put it in the cradle, and the computer sees it, but then it goes into and endless "RETRIEVING SETTINGS" mode.

I have left it on for several hours, to see if maybe it was really retrieving anything, but it never stops, until I remove it from the cradle.

Other than that everything else seem to be working ok.

Here is the version I have.

Microsoft Windows Mobile Version 5.0
OS 5.1.70 (Build 14402.1.1.0)
Processor: Intel (R) PXA270
Memory: 49.32 MB

I would like to be able to upgrade to 6.0, but without being able to sync, that seems to not be an option.

Thanks for any help.

I don't think there is a version of WM6 for the X50. I know there is for the X51V. WM6 doesn't legally exists for the Axim. Its not something that you can get from Dell.

Try settings--->connections--->USB to PC Either check or uncheck the box "Enable advanced network functionality".

So you have upgraded the device to 5.0 and now you are having these problems? Have you hard reset the device after the upgrade? Maybe it is all you need to make sure that the OS is installed properly.

When I go to "Settings" then to "Connections" I have 6 choices.
BEAM, BLUETOOTH, Connections, Dell WAN Utility, Network Cards, and Odyssey Client.
Nothing anywhere about USB to PC.

Yeah, I have done the hard reset several times, but still the same results.

I have not used WM5 in over a year. There should be a USB setting like the one that I mentioned before somewhere in the settings.

You may also need to start fresh with Activesync if you have not tried already.
