I have an Axim x50V, have used it for several years. Normally, I am able to connect to most hotspots, but am currently having trouble with connecting @ a hotel. The ISP provider is PentacleTechnologies. Here is the process and where it stops:
Turn on Axim, select connect via the WLAN (or the Odessey client); wifi is detected and connected. Open IE, and the acceptance page comes up. Scroll down, click I accept the terms and then select "Access the Web"...at that point nothing further happens, there is no windows icon in the upper right corner showing trying to access the web, everything stops.
A couple of years ago, I remember having a connection problem and there was something packed with the Axim concerning a Cisco app that might cause interference. I do not have that page anymore, and cannot find a Cisco app on the Axim.
Any help would be greatly apprecia:realmad:ted.

At a guess I would say it is trying to open another window or pop up, and this doesn't work in PIE.

Do you have another browser you could try, Opera for example.

I had this problem once while travelling. Took me awhile to figure it out. But, as Box said, it closes that window. For me, I just opened the browser again and had access. :)

Ps - I use PIE.

Tried closing the browser and re-opening, no joy. It reverts to the PentacleTechnologies log-in page. I don't have another browser loaded. Is there a free one out there I can download via the hotel computer (at least for a trial period)?

I believe it has a 30 day free trial. I've never used it personally. However, most ppl give it very good reviews. :)
