x50v wont hard reset

I recently pulled my x50v out of the cupboard and found it wont turn on. Ive charged it till the light is green and tried a soft and hard reset but its still dead. When i do a hard reset (holding the pin-hole button and pressing the front power button) nothing happens on the screen.

Is there a way to tell if its the backup battery, battery cover switch or the lock switch casuing the problem?

Try taking the battery out and replacing it.

Move the lock switch on and off a few times, make sure it is in the off position when you try it.

Hold the power button and press the reset.

do you mean replace the normal battery with a new one or just take it out and put it back?

Ive tried all of the above and it is still not turning on. Will it turn on if the backup battery has completely failed?

I just meant the same battery.

It should work without the backup working, I think.

Try it in the cradle, without the battery, but with the battery cover on.

Also, try just holding the power button down on it's own for 10 seconds or so, it may just be dimmed. I doubt it, but you never know.

It should work even with a dead backup battery. I have had this happen a couple of times and just kept messing arorund with it and it seemed to come back on eventually. try taking out the main battery and leave it out for a minute or so then put it back in. If you do get it to come back on by pushing the reset/power button combo don't forget to hit the cancel button so it doesn't really hard reset.
