Change Battery - alway show reset message

When I try to change a new battery for my DELL AXIM X50, it always shows me the following error message

"To clear all data in the memory, press [Left 2 button]
To cancel this operation, press [Left 3 button]

When I press to cancel this operation, it always hang on DELL screen. [after even 30 minutes]

The only way is to press the clear data & restore back all my setting from the
backup which is very tedious.

Can anyone advise me how to resolve such issue??? Thanks

Welcome to the site!

How's the status of your backup battery? (It's under Settings - System tab - Power.) And have you tried a soft reset before trying to swap batteries?

Low.

Just so you know for future reference, the backup battery on the x50 model is quite easy.

The hard part may be finding the battery assembly..... unless you are handy with soldering tools.
