Not sure if this is the right forum or not, but here goes.
I have an Axim X50V that I use as a media player - I love how it plays back DIVX / XVID files straight without some weird conversion, and like how I can use it in an emergency to check mail and surf the web.
My only complaints are the limited storage (using 2gb SD + 2gb CF card right now), really lousy battery life, and slight sluggishness (which I've learned to live with).
I was looking to remedy the storage space issue by getting a new SDHC card (because I have a bunch of SDHC-compatible card readers), possibly a 16gb off of Ebay. I was wondering, before I shell out $40 for one, if anyone has had luck getting a card with similar capacity working. Right now, I have the Lennysh WM6.1 A09 installed, but might switch to a WM6 version just because they seem to have more work done. Won't switch to anything before that - sorta addicted to working on .docx files on my PDA.
By really lousy battery life, I mean LOUSY battery life. If I surf the web (wifi on, low processor setting, screen on lowest brightness) I'm lucky to get 35 - 45 minutes of battery life. When I compare this to reviews saying that they get > 2hrs with everything on maximum, I really being thinking that I need a new battery. Only thing would be that all the official Dell batteries are several years old now, and lithium ions tend to die with age, meaning I would have to get an off-brand battery off Ebay most likely. I was wondering if anyone either knew a place other than ebay to get a good battery, or a good brand I should look for.
EDIT: Looked on Amazon.com, and surprisingly they have batteries! How would an HQRP extended battery work? I'd post a link, but it keeps telling me I need >15 posts to do that.
Thanks for your help!

If you want a reliable company and an extended battery check Mugen. They don't have the smaller extended batteries in stock, but the do have some of the larger batteries for the Axim.
Of course, as a general rule of thumb, all replacement "parts" are more expensive than their original parts. I see Amazon's x50v battery. You might realize that your current battery is a 1100mAh. So, if you get a double-capacity battery, you basically get double the size. If you are not worried about Axim size, go with a new 2200mAh battery.
If you have not tried it already, try draining the battery fully and recharge it. It is most easily done by full brightness, Wi-fi and Bluetooth on, and playing music at full volume (with headphones).
Personally, I think HQRP is a bunch of baloney. It is used to advertise or seemingly make the product better. It is the equivalent of ASCR (From Asus monitors) for dynamic black depth. A pitiful marketing technique.
You also might want to look around on the forums if you want to stay with a 1100mAh battery. Please utilize the Search button.

Regarding SDHC card issue, do a search for SDHC on this site. The short answer is it will not work. I would post the link but it says I can only post URL if I've made 15 posts or more.
Anyway, I'm using a 2 GB SD card (Patriot) & a 16 GB CF card (Transcend). Both rated 133x, though I haven't run any tests to verify this. Map files & docs on SD card. MP3 & vids on the CF. Work well for me.
Im using 6.1 L11, 16 gb pny sdhc from newegg 35 shipped, 8 gb kingston cf card, sounds like you need a new battery, Ive got about 8 standard batteries I like to keep my ax slim, though Im missing the nice run times of the 2200s. I think I'd tr to avoid cameron sino if possible.
In January, I bought a no name extended battery off Ebay from a seller named imax expert (decided to take a chance because my Axim is old anyway). Shipping was fast and very reasonable, and it's been working well so far. My only complaint is that the OS is always telling me my battery is dangerously low, when it is nowhere near being drained at all.

Gigi. I also bought a second battery from imax expert also. It's an 1800mAh for my AX 30. The battery doesn't last as long as the one that came with the axim. The battery that came with is also an 1800 mAh and lasts an hour longer than the imax expert one!

Reason: wrong spec on battery
Yeah sadly my brand new cameron sino replacements don't last as long as my used Dell batteries, I had those battery warnings with the 3600 extended as well, it was also a cameron sino..My 2200's I had no problems at all with 4 hours with wifi
I really just try and keep my Ax plugged in at all times. Whether it's in the vehicle (USB/AC convertor), in the house (docked to the Keyboard), or on the go I carry the two batteries with me.
Got to be ready for all contingencies :D
Oh and I don't forget my keyboard! Using the stylus irritates me after awhile :P

Reason: erk
Tried draining the battery completely last night, but it didn't help - leaving max brightness on drained it about 20% in ten/fifteen minutes. It'd be enough for occasional use, but still not very long.
Thanks for confirming that a 16gb SDHC card will work, I ordered one today after reading the posts.
I figure I might as well just try the cheap battery on Amazon - worse case if it doesn't work, I'm just out $10. If it doesn't work right, I'll check for the mentioned brands and spend a bit more for one of them.
Lol, I carry 8 spare batteries in an mp3 player pouch most times "just in case" the Ax is definately a great on the go device.
