Aximsitewifiicon Dell Axim x50 WiFi Issue

I am relatively new to the PDA world and started with a used Dell Axim x50 running WM2003SE. Unfortunately, I do not know the processor speed but the "About" section says the processor is an Intel(R) PXA270 but, upon researching the speed, I assume that it is clocked out at the default 312MHz.

Here is my issue: Ever since I got it, I have been trying to enable a wireless connection on it but am only getting a BlueTooth connection. So, I went through the trouble of purchasing a Symbol CompactFlash WiFi card, model LA-4137, and tried installing that but got nothing...until I went to support.symbol.com/support/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=WID-00276&sliceId=SAL_Public&dialogID=11364966&stateId =0%200%2011366316 and found out that the Dell Axim x50's CompactFlash slot is for memory expansion only.

In Settings, I have Beam, BlueTooth, Connections, and Network Cards available to me but nothing under any of these choices says anything about a wifi connection. Is it possible that the Axim that I purchased has no wifi card or is there a driver available from somewhere, other than Dell because they are listing NOTHING for the Axim's now, that could get the wifi portion of my Axim x50 working again?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

It sounds like you have an X50 Low which doesn't have Wifi.
To check what you have go,
Start/Settings/System/System information
If it doesn't have Wifi in that list then you don't have it.

A CF Wifi card should work with the correct drivers installed.
I don't think that information is correct about the CF slot only being for memory.
Many people use wifi cards with their X50s

To add to what Box said, I posted the following on another thread last October:
Quote:
...download a file from
Wireless Networker CompactFlash and LA-4121 PC Card Documentation & Drivers. After extracting the zip file, run S24DRVR392B67-01.exe to extract just the drivers. There is a file named netwlan5.cat in the resulting folder. Try copying that file to the Axim and running it from there. I'm not sure it's the actually drivers for the card but it shouldn't hurt to try.

Note: I suggest backing up your Axim before trying this. You should also probably remove any previous Symbol programs that are listed on the device before loading this and run the cab without having the card in place.
There was no reply suggesting it worked and I have seen a few claims that the LA-4137 does not work with the X50 but I cannot understand why that would be true. The statement on the Symbol site that the X50 CF slot is 'memory only' is not correct.
