Hay all I bought a Dell Axim X50v it has TOM TOM gps on it, well it was there.
My battery went dead and when I put a charged batt. in it and turned it on my TOM TOM program Icon on the main screen was gone. I don't know how to get it back. The program is on a CF card in my Axim but I don't know to get my program back running again. Can anyone please tell me how to do this? I have went into the progam on the CF card and everything I click on gives me a error. Please help thanks mcfirefighter.
Unfortunately, the x50v does not have persistent storage. When your battery is removed for an extended period of time, the x50v will hard reset itself (Meaning it goes back to factory state with nothing on it).
My suggestion backup and files other than programs on the CF card. Then re-install all the programs you lost again, including the TomTom software.

bought this x50v on ebay. worked fine for 4 days. now it powers on to the dell logo, the blue stripe goes across the bottom of the screen and stops about a 1/4" from the end. i hard reset, even pushed wi-fi button, power, and rese all simultaniously and still the same situation all over again. any clues out there pls respond.
Are there any TomTom files on the root of the CF Card? When I installed TomTom to my SD card the install files were right on the root of the card. When you removed and reinserted the card the program installation would start automatically.
I had another thought, look on the CF card for the executable file, Navigator.exe. If you find it try to run it with on your Axim, it is possible that the TomTom installation was custom configured to run fully on the CF card. This is the preferred configuration for TomTom because you just copy the CD contents to the card and edit the registry in Windows Mobile. That way you dont need the CD if you make configuration changes in TomTom.
If it doesn't work, then you will need the original CD's to reinstall, and I dont think the latest version is available for CF, only on an SD card.
If this doesn't work out for you and you have a GPS for your Axim, you might want to try Google maps for Windows Mobile, its free.

Please post this in a new thread. It has nothing to due with the topic currently being discussed.
